June 5th, Victoria, BC In September 2011 my elderly cousin, who had advanced dementia, died under mysterious circumstances. I found out later that she had been befriended by a religious organization during the last years of her life. My cousin had substantial financial resources. Somebody had her draw up a new Power of Attorney and had her will changed at least twice; much of her money and bonds remain unaccounted for. We do not know if it went to this organization or the specific people she was influenced by. She was moved from Victoria to Vancouver's East side and died in poverty and in poor health.
